Rosita Thomas

Senior Advisor, Multicultural Research
 

Dr. Rosita Thomas has more than seventeen years of experience working in public opinion research. She started her own full-service research firm in 2000. Thomas has conducted health care research for government agency clients, including federal and county government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private industry. Her areas of expertise include—marketing, association research, health and housing, web site testing, policy research, and ethnic marketing.

Thomas, who is bi-racial, has conducted hundreds of focus groups and conducted numerous multi-cultural quantitative studies (e.g., African Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans). She is equally skilled at conducting quantitative studies.

Some of her work includes:

  • Victoria’s Secret. Qualitative research with Pink brand and Intimates customers and VS employees with Verde Group.
  • International Deli Dairy Bakery Association. Nationwide trend studies with supermarket customers and retailers.
  • Centocor Ortho Biotech. Qualitative and Quantitative customer satisfaction research with gastroenterologists, dermatologists, rheumatologists, and payers with Verde Group.
  • Washington Nationals Baseball Team. Qualitative study with African Americans on how to increase AA interest in baseball.
  • Eli Lilly. IDIs erectile dysfunction marketing research. Research conducted with The Henne Group.
  • American Chemical Council (ACC). Executive interviews on membership retention and recruitment. Harvard University qualitative study on senior faculty vitality.
    Kraft Foods. Focus group research on nutrition and obesity.
  • Miller Brewing Company. Qualitative and quantitative research for Miller Brewing Company.
  • BlueCross BlueShield Association. Web site development and navigation testing.

Prior to opening her own business, Dr. Thomas worked as Senior Research Associate at AARP (formerly the American Association of Retired Persons), managing large-scale qualitative and quantitative studies, and consulted for a major Washington, D.C. research firm. Previously, Dr. Thomas worked at the Gallup Organization for two years and at the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress for five years.

Dr. Thomas received her Ph.D. in political science, with an emphasis on public opinion and political psychology, from Yale University in 1987. She also did post-graduate work at Harvard's JFK School of Government. She received her B.A. from Duke University. Dr. Thomas is also an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
